Since leaving Vogue Paris in January 2011, Carine Roitfeld has been very present on the fashion scene, collaborating with Karl Lagerfeld, MaxMara and Barney’s New York, just to name a few. but we all know that she is working on something bigger… her own magazine! Today, she finally revealed to WWD a first look at what it would look like.
To start, the name of the magazine will simply be CR. Nothing too surprising there.. but she wants the bi-annual magazine to be really different. First of all, she wants it to look like a fashion book, meaning all the articles, editorial and even advertising (!) will only be featured in spreads! Another very interesting idea is that, even if the magazine is in English, we will occasionnaly find articles written in the author’s native language and translated at the end of the magazine. Every issue will also have a theme, like « Obssesion », that was the key word for her mock-up version.
CR will be published by Fashion Media Group CCL, which also publishes V and VMan. The very first magazine will of course be a September issue, so we should be able to buy it in the beginning of August. I can’t wait!
Do you think this magazine will actually be succesful? And would you buy the first issue? Let me know!
