I had heard about Moore’s Suit Drive in the past years, but I have to admit I didn’t know exactly what it was. This year though, I received a full press release about the initiative and was so impressed that I decided to help spread the word, and hopefully convince you to participate!
I started by stopping by the Breakfast Television set yesterday to talk about it, so I’ll let you watch the segment (just click on the image below)… then give you all the details! First of all, I want to thank BT’s host Derick Fage for not hesitating one second to donate this brand new suit when I asked him if he wanted to take part in the #SuitDrive with me! If you want to follow our lead, you can drop your suits or any other professional clothing in good condition to any Moore’s location in Canada, until July 31st. For every donation, you will receive a 50% coupon to use on your next purchase at Moore’s!
The 50% discount is pretty cool, but the best part about the #SuitDrive is really the feeling of making a difference in someone’s life. As I mention in the BT segment, the clothing you donate will be offered by different organizations (like Old Brewery Mission, Accueil Bonneau or Relais L’Espérance) to men and women who are trying to re-enter the workforce after being down on luck in their lives. I think that receiving a fresh look for a (probably very stressful) job interview can, not only give you a big self-esteem boost, but also make you realize that someone cares enough to give you a hand… and that is what makes all the difference!
Fashion can be superficial, it’s true, but it can also be a wonderful way to change our world! If you want to read more about the initiative, head to mosuitdrive.com!
