Yesterday I presented my very first fashion segment on Global News Montreal. Since Couture Fashion Week just ended in Paris, I thought it would be fun to see how we can apply Couture trends to real life! I’ll let you watch the video and then I’ll get a little more into each trend…. so keep reading ’til the end!

Flamenco inspired

When we think about flamenco, we usually think about ruffles… and that’s exactly what you should look for in tops, skirts and dresses this fall! My suggestion is to go for a pretty top and wear it with your favourite pair of skinny jeans.

Lady in Red

A red dress is always the best way to stand out in an event, but it’s not the only way to wear the chic hue… A red pencil skirt or a structured blazer will be the perfect addition to your wardrobe!

Sheer bliss

I’m not saying you should show THIS much skin… but you can definitely invest in some transparency this fall. A good way to wear the trend is to layer or to go for materials like lace.

Show some leg!

Transparency is not the only way you can show skin this fall, slits are also a good option… just make sure the slit is not too high and don’t hesitate to wear tights!

Neck dressing

One of the most interesting trends of Couture Fashion Week was definitely the focus on the neck. Whether you do it with a high collar, a statement necklace or a Dior-like scarf, just cover your neck… and don’t forget to put your hair up!

Rich embroidery

Even though embroidery seems appropriate only for evening, you can also wear it during the day! Invest in a dressy top that is going to look amazing with a pair of jeans or get a pair of embroidered pants and wear them with a simple black turtleneck. It’s all about balance!

Would you try any of these trends? And which one is your favourite?
