As England (and the world) celebrates Queen Elizabeth’s diamond jubilee, I felt like looking back at the queen’s great style! A style that’s always been about prints, hats, colours, and that purse that she’s always holding… no matter what!
Let’s start by the looks she wore on the first 3 days of the jubilee celebration…
…and go back to the very beginning (8, 12 & 16 years old) . As we can see, she already had a thing for great coats!
Later on, I loved all the ultra feminine dresses she wore to go out. I especially love the white lace number on the right!
Of course, she also had many opportunities to wear ball gowns…
… and wonderful furs!
One of Queen Elizabeth’s trademarks is definitely the coat, which she wears with such elegance…
… and of course, the hat!
Here are a few more… worn on different royal duties.
And my favourite… this pink silk number that looks like a delicious cupcake!
I’ve mentioned hats & coats, but what really represents Queen Elizabeth’s style are colours and prints! Here are some prints from the 60’s and 70’s…
I love how she still wears a bold print today!
To finish things off with a splash, here’s why some people call her the queen of colour!
So what do you think? Do you also consider the Queen as a style icon?
Happy 60 years of reign!
