The SAG Awards are often forgotten because they’re stuck between the Golden Globes and the Oscars, but this year, they were definitely worth looking at…
BEST DRESSED
1- Emma Stone in Christian Dior Couture
OMG, that’s exactly what I said when I saw Emma Stone on the red carpet! I just love the mix of the masculine tuxedo jacket with the delicate (and super feminine) sheer skirt!
2- Reese Witherspoon in custom Giorgio Armani
I’m usually not blown away by Reese’s red carpet choices, but this Giorgio Armani gown is everything! The colour, the asymmetrical neckline and the fit are PERFECT… and exactly why stars should always go custom!
3- Camila Alves in Donna Karan Atelier
Camila Alves proves that a « plus one » can be the real star on the red carpet!
4- Laura Carmichael in Vionnet
The sheer skirt had a moment last night… and this was my 2nd favourite interpretation of the trend. Absolutely love this!
5- Caitriona Balfe in Solace
I didn’t know Caitriona before last night… but thanks to this pale tangerine dress, I won’t forget her.
BEST RED CARPET MOMENT: Lupita Nyong’o in Elie Saab
Lupita didn’t make my top 5 (In case you’re wondering, I don’t like the top part of the dress), but she definitely made the best red carpet entrance!
BEST MALE: Eddie Redmayne in Prada
If 2014 was Lupita’s year, 2015 sure seems to be heading Eddie’s way… So stylish (and talented)!
BEST COLOUR : Julianne Moore in Givenchy
Even though the dress is a little boring, the emerald tone with Julianne’s complexion and red hair is a match made in heaven!
BEST IN BEAUTY
Makeup: Lupita Nyong’o
The lips, the cheekbones, the eyebrows… last night, Lupita Nyong’o simply looked like a queen.
Hair: Reese Witherspoon
We can say Reese had a good night! Not only was her dress beautiful, the perfect cascading ponytail was also on point!
Before getting to the worst looks, let’s have some fun with a few wacky nods…
WHERE DID THIS TREND COME FROM?
So for some weird reason, everybody was wearing criss-crossed dress, Unfortunately (a part from Felicity Jones), it wasn’t exactly a good idea. It just does something weird to the bust…
IT SEEMED LIKE A GOOD IDEA, BUT…
When I saw that Julia Roberts was wearing a jumpsuit, I freaked out… but then I saw the fit, and the enchantement went away. In Lorelei Linklater’s case , I adore the idea of bell sleeves, but they’re really too long. She looks like she’s been punished!
WAIT… DID KYLIE JENNER ATTEND THE SAG’S?
is it just me or Ariel Winter from Modern Family is seriously starting to look like Kim’s little sister…
OK… DID U REALLY COORDINATE YOUR SOCKS TO YOUR CORSAGE?
I love you Jared Leto, but the slippers and the pink socks have to go!
WORST DRESSED
1- Julianna Margolies in Giambattista Valli Couture
If you do a high slit, the dress has to be sleek and fitted… not puffy and wrinkly! This might actually be the worst red carpet moment ever for Giambattista Valli!
2- Laverne Cox in Johanna Johnson
I love Laverne Cox for everything she stands for… and because she’s great in OITNB, but this dress is a total disaster. Ok, the criss-cross trend has to stop!
3- Vicky Jeudy
Laverne’s co-star in the hit series did not do better with this figure skating inspired wreck. In fact, they should both go to fashion prison!
4- Kelly Osbourne in Elisabetta Franchi
And maybe the Fashion Police co-host should join them too… Seriously Kelly, you can’t criticize the red carpet and wear a tacky leopard mullet skirt!
5- Jennifer Aniston in vintage John Galliano
I used to complain when Jennifer Aniston wore one boring little black dress after the other, but after the top-less tuxedo at the Golden Globes and this baroque inspired mess… I’m actually wishing for something REALLY simple at the Oscars.
