As we’re approaching the biggest football game of the year (and Lady Gaga’s halftime show), I decided to prepare a very special throwback… not to one specific moment in time, but to 13 of the most amazing Superbowl halftime fashion moments from the last 25 years!

Michael Jackson
Super Bowl 1993

Michael Jackson was the first artist to make such a fashion statement at the Super Bowl... a larger-than-life moment that would inspire many performances to come!

Beyonce
Super Bowl 2016

23 years later, Queen B was clearly inspired by the King of Pop when she decided to wear this Dsquared look for her big performance!

Madonna
Super Bowl 2012

Madonna too, opted for a royal black & gold outfit. Designed by Ricardo Tisci for Givenchy, the look was also reminiscent of Michael Jackson's stunning "Remember The Time" music video (well at least I think so)!

Beyonce
Super Bowl2013

There's a reason why this look was the introduction to this post... the leather bodysuit designed by Rubin Singer was a piece of art!

Britney Spears
Super Bowl 2001

Britney had the best midriff in the business, and she was right to flaunt it. Plus I love the shrunken Aerosmith t-shirt and the football inspired pants.

Gwen Stefani
Super Bowl 2003

Talking about best midriffs... Gwen Stefani gave us the best Pin-up meets Skater Girl meets Old Hollywood glam look ever at her 2003 Super Bowl performance!

Katy Perry
Super Bowl 2015

Everybody talked about the dancing sharks, but I thought the Jeremy Scott beach umbrella inspired outfit was pretty good too!

Janet Jackson
Super Bowl 2004

Super Bowl
XXXVIII might've been all about Janet Jackson's infamous wardrobe malfunction, it's still a huge fashion moment!

Fergie
Super Bowl 2011

Fergie's 2011 Super Bowl outfit was actually a LED embedded creation imagined by haute-tech designers
Anouk Wipprecht & Bea Akerlund... which makes it really interesting!

Shania Twain
Super Bowl 2003

Shania Twain certainly made fashion headlines with this futuristic princess outfit designed by Marc Bouwer. You gotta love the diamond embellished bra!

Diana Ross
Super Bowl 1996

This is what we call a showstopper! Absolutely love the fuschia & orange combination + the fluffy train!

Prince
Super Bowl 2007

The colours alone make Prince's 2007 outfit deserving of a spot in our list (and that Purple Rain performance is definitely one of the best moments of half time history)!

Tony Bennett & Patti Labelle
Super Bowl 1995

I'm not crazy about the looks (even though that gold turban is amaaazing), but there's something so incredibly joyful about this pic, I had to include it!
