The most glamourous festival in the world is on! Until May 27th, the biggest stars of the planet will walk Cannes’ red carpet… and I will be keeping a close eye on the fashion.
To start things off in a big way, here’s my recap of the opening day!
BEST DRESSED
1. Diane Kruger in Giambattista Valli
As a member of the jury, Diane Kruger shows us how to do it in this beautiful mint green chiffon Giambattista Valli dress!
2. Fan Bing Bing in Christopher Bu
I love Fan Bing Bing’s originality and attachment to her origins! Once again, she chose a traditionally-inspired dress with beautiful ancient Chinese embroidery.
3.Eva Herzigova in custom Dolce & Gabbana
Sometimes, simplicity works best! How lovely is this pale pink sequinned gown?
4. Jane Fonda in Atelier Versace
Can anyone believe she is 75 years old? I’m totally in awe of how this dress fits her body. BEAUTIFUL!
5. Freida Pinto in Michael Angel
The multicoloured bustier, the silk pink peplum skirt… I love how different and fresh this dress is but unfortunately, I’m too disturbed by the shoes. Why silver platforms?
WORST DRESSED
1. Eva Longoria in Marchesa
I know not everyone will agree, but when your train is longer than you are (wedding excluded)… there’s a problem!
2. Jessica Chastain in Alexander McQueen
I’m not saying the actress is not beautiful, but this dress is too plain and sloppy for Cannes opening night.
BEST PHOTOCALL LOOKS
Tilda Swinton in Haider Ackermann
Tilda Swinton proves us again why Haider Ackermann and her are the perfect match. The colours are just beautiful!
Diane Kruger in Versus
I love everything about this Versus mini-dress: the colour, the pleated skirt and the beautiful laced back. And the shoes are to die for!
