Awards season is back… and, like every year, FashionIsEverywhere is officially kicking things off with the Golden Globes! It was a real fun show and a pretty interesting red carpet, so here are all our best and worst of the night (for the biggest trends, click here)!

BEST DRESSED

1- Alicia Vikander in custom Louis Vuitton

Alicia Vikander didn’t go home with an award… but she was definitely our favourite on the red carpet! Her custom Louis Vuitton dress was everything we wanted it to be: fresh, pretty and perfectly suited for a night like the Golden Globes!

2- Cate Blanchett in Givenchy

In my book, Cate can do wrong… and that’s because she always finds the perfect balance between avant-garde and glamour! I know that a lot of people didn’t like this Givenchy number, so before you make up your mind about it, look at how the dress moved when she walked. Wow!

3- Malin Akerman in Reem Acra

I didn’t expect to find Malin Akerman in my best dressed list, but I fell in love with her delicate heather grey lace dress as soon as I saw it on the red carpet! I especially love the dreamy peplum!

4- Laverne Cox in Elizabeth Kennedy

The hair, the makeup, the pose and of course the dress… Laverne Cox was quite simply a vision last night!

5- Olivia Wilde in Michael Kors

I don’t think I would’ve liked this dress as much in any other colour, but this rich burgundy hue is stunning! Simplicity at its best!

Special mention to Lady Gaga in Versace

I HAVE to mention Lady Gaga… not only did she win the award for her role of Countess in American Horror Story: Hotel, she also looked gorgeous in this futuristic black velvet dress by Versace (the only reason she didn’t make the list is because her bleached hair was too yellowy).

BEST DRESSED MAN: Sam Heughan

I personally thought Eddie Redmayne or Will Smith were going to win the red carpet, but I have to give it to Outlander’s Sam Heughan! Anyone else wants to start watching the show?

HOTTEST COUPLE: Kristen Dunst & Garrett Hedlund

There were a lot of beautiful couples on the red carpet las night… but none of them generated this much heat! Do you agree?

CUTEST GUEST: Jacob Tremblay

I challenge you not to fall in love with the 9 year old star of the movie Room (and his tux is perfect too)!

MOST INTERESTING LOOK: Denis O’Hare

If you thought Lady Gaga was going to have the craziest look from the American Horror Story: Hotel cast, think again… Love those Louboutin wedges and the statement that comes with them!

BEST STATEMENT: Bryce Dallas Howard in her size 6 Jenny Packham dress

Talking about statements, the biggest one has to be Bryce Dallas Howard, who admitted that she bought her Jenny Packham size 6 dress at a department store because she actually wanted to have options! In other words, she was highlighting the lack of red-carpet options for non-sample-size actresses…

BEST HAIR & MAKEUP: Amber Heard & Kate Bosworth

When it comes to beauty, I absolutely loved Amber Heard‘s tousled faux-bob and I adore Kate Bosworth‘s flawless porcelain skin, rosey cheeks and perfect brows. And I had never noticed she had one blue eye and one green, how beautiful!

ON THE FENCE: The Jennifer’s

Before the Golden Globes, I heard many people say that the Jennifer’s were going to slay the red carpet, and in a way, they did… but it was mostly due to their beauty and star power. To me, both looks could’ve been great, but unfortunately they weren’t! JLo‘s Giambattista Valli dress was way too busy… honestly, I could’ve done without the cape and the diamond necklace. As for JLaw‘s Christian Dior number, it was once again too edgy for her. Not only are the cut-outs unflattering (on her perfect body), but the necklace is also « de trop ». To end this on a good note, both colours are stunning!

WORST DRESSED

1- Heidi Klum in Marchesa

With all the money she spent on laser, I simply can’t understand why she would wear this hairy dress… And is that a tribal pattern under her waist???

Goldenglobes16-worstdressed-HeidiKlum

2- Maggie Gyllenhaal in Marc Jacobs

Sorry Maggie the crazy print won’t hypnotize us into liking this dress…

Goldenglobes16-worstdressed-MaggieGyllenhaal

3- Amy Schumer in Prabal Gurung

After reading all everybody had to say about her fashion choices, Amy probably wanted to prove she could be proper… but this is pushing it a little too far. I want the skimpy dresses back!

4- Emilia Clarke in Valentino Couture

I have to say this is probably the ONLY look I didn’t like from the Valentino Fall 2015 Couture collection… And if you’re going to go for the sheer dress, don’t add a nude lining!

Goldenglobes16-worstdressed-emiliaclarke

5- Eva Longoria in Georges Hobeika

Hmmm… where should I start? Ok, you can’t have a bow detail on the neckline and on the waist + flower embroideries on the hips + a high slit, all in the same dress! And can I add that the top part does not fit at all?

Goldenglobes16-worstdressed-EvaLongoria

WORST DRESSED MAN: David Oyelowo

OMG, everything about this is wrong!

Goldenglobes16-worstdressedman-DavidOyelowo

WORST HAIR: Channing Tatum

We say that a picture is worth a thousand words… so on this note, I’m going to bed! And I won’t be dreaming about Magic Mike…
