Award season is officially on! And it started last night with our favourite awards of the year… the Golden Globes! The actual show was fun (even if the stars were clearly affected by the imminent arrival of Donald Trump in the Oval Office) & we got a few great TV moments! As for the red carpet, it was even better…

BEST DRESSED

1- Emma Stone in Valentino

Not only did Emma Stone win Best actress, but she was also the prettiest on the red carpet. Her pleated Valentino dress was dreamy and so perfect for her silhouette. And what can we say about that Tiffany & Co. necklace… just splendid!

2- Olivia Culpo in Zuhair Murad

Olivia Culpo is a (really) close second! This printed Zuhair Murad gown was a bold choice, but it paid off because she looked stunning! The hair, the makeup (and those brows) are to die for!

3- Hailee Steinfeld in Vera Wang

Hailee Steinfeld really stood out in this lilac ethereal Vera Wang ball gown… and she looked amazing! I love everything about this dress: the colour, the plunging neckline and the transparency!

4- Mandy Moore in Naeem Khan

If you watched the first season of the TV series This Is Us, you’re probably also in love with Mandy Moore and excited that she looked so stunning last night. Her Naeem Khan cape dress was pure sophistication!

5- Chrissy Teigen in Marchesa

When I saw Chrissy Teigen in this gold embroidered Marchesa number, it was love at first sight! I know the peplum is not as trendy as it used to be, but here, it really makes the look!

SPECIAL MENTION: Jessica Chastain in Prada

Jessica Chastain didn’t quite make our best-dressed list (to me, her decollete was a tiny too open and I was so scared of a wardrobe malfunction), but I still have to mention her because she looked stunning! The hair, the makeup, the necklace, and that colour against her skin is simply beautiful!

Best moment: Meryl Streep’s speech

Ok, she also looked stunning, but it’s her inspiring speech we have to mention… If you haven’t watched it yet, do it right now!

Best tux: Evan Rachel Wood in Altuzarra

This was supposed to be my best dressed man spot, but I have to give it to Evan Rachel Wood… because no one wore the tuxedo better than her! Plus, she also took the opportunity to tell young girls that they should always be themselves and wear exactly what they want!

Hottest Couple: Blake + Ryan or Justin + Jessica?

This is a though one, but I have to go with Justin & Jessica (that Elie Saab dress is amazing)! Not only do they look great, but they’re giving us serious #couplegoals! Do you agree?

Cutest guests: the cast from Stranger Things & Sunny Pawar

The kids made quite an impact at the Golden Globes last night! Of course, the Stranger Things boys and the adorable Millie Bobby Brown (in Jenny Packham) looked uber cool…

… but it’s cutee Sunny Pawar from the movie Lion (an absolute must-see) that stole the show with his killer smile (and shoes)!

Best Colour: yellow

I have to say I wasn’t expecting it… but yellow was definitely the hottest (and brightest) colour on the red carpet!

glamour.com, popsugar.com

Most Popular Colour: pink

If yellow was the hottest, pink was definitely the most popular colour… and it came in every shade you can imagine: from bright fuchsia and bubble gum to blush and baby pink!

Best trend: Metallics

Whether it was gold, silver or bronze, metallic dresses really made an impact on the red carpet! My favourite: Ruth Negga in her custom-made silver armour by Louis Vuitton!

glamour.com, popsugar.com

Worst trend: Peek-a-boo shoulders

All these dresses could’ve been great choices (or at least ok ones) if it wasn’t for the weird detached sleeves/peek-a-boo shoulders…

glamour.com, popsugar.com

WORST DRESSED

1- Janelle Monae in Armani Privé

I don’t know who encouraged Janelle Monae to wear this tulle polka-dot mullet horror… but she should never get involved again!

popsugar.com

2- Judith Light in Balmain

Is it just me or from the waist down she actually looks like a zebra? Such an uncomfortable silhouette…

eonline.com

3- Sophie Turner in Louis Vuitton

Everything about this dress is wrong… starting with the weird sleeves (once again)!

popsugar.com

4- Naomi Campbell in Versace

Naomi Campbell looked stunning, she always does, but this Versace dress is just too busy… pleats + lace inserts + asymetrical neckline + high slit is just too much!

popsugar.com

5- Winona Ryder in Victor & Rolf

Winona Ryder wanted the most boring dress in the world and that’s exactly what she got! She could’ve at least added a necklace or something…
