Those who know me know I’m a huge sports fan, those who know me even better know that if I wasn’t a fashion journalist, there’s a pretty good chance I would be reporting about sports (I’m very serious)! Because of my tight event schedule, I don’t get to watch as much football, hockey, baseball and soccer games I’d like, but I make sure to see all the results before I go to bed!
So, when NFL Canada approached me to show how I rock my game-day looks, I was beyond thrilled! Not only because it’s a fun project, but mostly because I could prove that wearing sports gear doesn’t only mean throwing a jersey over jeans and sneakers… So if you like thinking outside the box when it comes to style, you might love these outfit inspirations!
My (super) girly look
I always like to look feminine, especially when I’m wearing sports gear… So, when I saw this Majestic fitted hoodie, the first thing I wanted to do is wear it with my tutu! To me, this look was a cute reference to the Giants cheerleaders (and a way to satisfy my inner princess;) Of course, with the weather right now, I had to add a coat (so happy I have this wrap-coat in the perfect blue hue), tights and a knit hat.
My cozy look
Since wearing a tutu is not exactly for everyone (or everyday), here’s a second -cozier- option with the same great hoodie. This time, I was inspired by the first snow of the season… To accentuate that pretty winter-white setting, I added a fur collar, my red, white and blue booties and the coolest/cutest NY Giants knit hat from New Era! When you strip off the shoes and the fur, this is a perfect look to watch the game at home!
My sexy urban look
When you don’t have tickets to the actual game (or when you live too far from the action), the second best option is to meet your friends at a bar to watch Manning, Cruz and Beckham Jr. (hopefully) crush the Cowboys! To me, double denim is absolutely perfect for a sports night out in the city. Actually, here it’s more like quadruple denim, since I’m wearing a shirt + vest + ripped jeans and this denim-inspired cap from New Era!
