As in every major red carpet event, some trends stood out at the amfAR Cannes gala… Here are the ones that I noticed!

1. Transparency

Led by Heidi Klum, who really embraced the trend, transparency was a major hit in Cannes!

2. High slits

The Angelina effect is still on! While most of the leg-baring dresses looked lovely… somebody took it too far, once again! Guess who…

3. Going short

The shorter hems were a major trend at the MET Gala and we saw them again on the amfAR red carpet. Would you wear a short dress at a gala event?

4. Siren cut

While I think the classic siren silhouette looks amazing on Irina Shayk, I can’t help but find it a little tacky… especially on Hofit Golan!

5. Vibrant reds

Going red for an AIDS gala? So appropriate!

6. Pretty pastels

Even if I’m not crazy about Rose & Kirsten’s dresses, it’s still refreshing to see these pretty colours on the red carpet!

7. Boring black

To me, choosing a black plain dress to wear at Cannes Festival is just too boring… C’mon girls, you can do better!
