After a long holiday break, I’m back! I’m still on maternity leave, but I’m going to try to write more, because I miss it too much! And what best way to kick of 2020 than with my annual Golden Globes red carpet recap… Welcome to my 10th award season coverage!
THE BEST DRESSED
1-Zoey Deutch in Fendi Couture
Zoey was, without any doubt, best dressed of the night! I love everything about this look… the colour, the sleeves and the fact that it’s a jumpsuit! Hair and jewellery are also great.
2-Zoe Kravitz in Saint Laurent
Zoe Kravitz wasn’t far behind with this stunning number! I love the ruffled bustier and the different sizes of polka dots. Plus, I adore the pixie cut!!!
3-Helen Mirren in Christian Dior Haute Couture
When classic is done this well, classic can really stand out… and the beautiful Helen Mirren is the best proof! p.s. She’s wearing 4 million dollars worth of diamonds!
4-Ana de Armas in Ralph & Russo
Another classic silhouette… but the midnight blue sequins really give it a lot of oomph!
5-Charlize Theron in Christian Dior Haute Couture
Charlize looked breathtaking last night! You’re going to say as usual… and you’re right, but it was totally different than what she normally goes for. Wow does green look amazing on her!
THE RISK TAKERS
When you take a risk, it can either be amazing or it can go completely south. Let’s see if it paid off for the 5 biggest risk takers of the night…
Billy Porter in Alex Vinash
White tuxedo + feather train… A BIG YES!
Cate Blanchett in Mary Katrantzou
It isn’t her first risk on a red carpet… and it definitely works once again!
Kerry Washington in Altuzarra
This one is tricky…I say YES for the top part of the look, but the skirt unfortunately looks cheap!
Gwyneth Paltrow in Fendi
In another colour, this dress might’ve been interesting, but in brown it has a bit of a Chewbacca feel… and that’s not exactly a good look for the red carpet…
Joey King in Iris Van Herpen Haute Couture
This is a big YES for me, except for the shoes that cut her legs. She should’ve gone for a classic pump.
THE TREND : GO BIG OR GO HOME
The hottest trend of the night was definitely « Going Big »… Think exaggerated shoulders, oversized bows, poofie skirts & loooong trains! Here are the 5 BIGGEST looks of the globes!
Sofia Carson in Giambattista Valli Haute Couture
Jennifer Lopez in Valentino Haute Couture
Beyonce in custom Schiaparelli
Dakota Fanning in Christian Dior Haute Couture
Scarlett Johansson in Vera Wang
THE WORST DRESSED
1-Salma Hayek in Gucci
Oh God… where to start? Probably by the tackiest bustier I’ve seen in a long time! The people at Gucci can’t be happy to have this dress on a red carpet… but it’s hard to say no to the boss’ wife!
2-Taylor Swift in Etro
This dress is so out of character, it took me a few glances to realize it was really Taylor Swift! Not only do I dislike the cut-out bustier, I also hate the print!
3-Jennifer Aniston in Christian Dior Haute Couture
Yaaaaawwwnnnn
4-Sienna Miller in Gucci
So many parts of this dress just don’t work… why is that halter top string black? Why is the skirt’s hemline so bad? And why is that belt sooo long? Really not a good night for Gucci…
5-Lucy Boynton in Louis Vuitton
I love Lucy Boynton, but I really don’t like the Victorian meets space age feel. Plus what’s going on with this makeup?
So, what do you think of my choices… did I forget anyone?
