With so many celebrities, designers, stylists and editors attending the event, the MET Gala is a great place to get inspired! Here are the major trends that really stood out!
1. Vintage floral prints
The newest trend I noticed last night was definitely the vintage floral prints that were so pretty and innocent.
Sarah Jessica Parker in Valentino/Rashida Jones in Tory Burch/Lily Collins in Valentino
2. Metallics
A red carpet event wouldn’t be complete without the shiny dresses. Here are my favourites..
Gold
Jessica Alba in Michael Kors/Bianca Brandolini D’Adda in Dolce & Gabbana/Jessica Paré in L’Wren Scott
Silver
Nina Dobrev in Donna Karan Atelier / Lana Del Rey in Altuzarra
3. Embroidery
When embroidery is done well, the result is simply stunning…
Jessica Stam in Christian Dior/Scarlett Johansson in Dolce & Gabbana/Sofia Vergara in Marchesa
But it can also have the opposite effect, as evidenced in the following… (I’m sorry Jessica Chastain!)
Jessica Chastain in Louis Vuitton/Milla Jovovich in Prada/Anna Wintour in Prada/Brooklyn Decker in Tory Burch
4. Short dresses
I’m usually not a fan of short hems at the MET gala (or any other important ceremony), but I have to admit these girls prove me wrong!
Kate Bosworth in Prada/Chloe Sevigny in Miu Miu/Gwyneth Paltrow in Prada
So what do you think? Did u notice any other important trend? Do let me know!
If you haven’t read them yet, don’t miss the most popular colours at the MET Gala + my best & worst dressed round-up!
