The 90th Academy Awards ceremony was held last night in LA. It was a good night filled with inspiring speeches (especially Frances McDormand), great wins and of course, interesting fashion! So here are our Best & Worst Dressed…

BEST DRESSED

1- Nicole Kidman in Armani Privé

Nicole Kidman can be hit or miss, so I was thrilled when I saw her walking out in this absolutely stunning Armani Privé number! I love the colour & the architectural silhouette that she carries beautifully!

2- Zendaya in Giambattista Valli

I love how Zendaya can be super trendy when needed and the epitome of elegance for the right occasion. Here, she’s exactly that… and she looks STUNNING!

3- Jennifer Garner in Atelier Versace

Wow! I have to say I wasn’t expecting this from Jennifer Garner… but I’m so glad she surprised us with this electric blue draped stunner by Atelier Versace.

4- Jane Fonda in custom Balmain

First of all, I want to remind everyone that Jane Fonda is 80 years old! This being said… I don’t think anyone could wear this Balmain dress better than her!

5- Allison Janney in Reem Acra

A red dress is always a good idea for the Oscars… especially when it looks like this one! I love the silhouette, I love the plunging neckline and I adore the dramatic sleeves!

A FEW MORE GOOD LOOKS…

Taraji P. Henson
in custom Vera Wang

Viola Davis
in Michael Kors

Emily Blunt
in Schiaparelli

Sofia Carson
in Giambattista Valli Couture

Paz Vega
in Christopher Bu

Octavia Spencer
in Brandon Maxwell

BIGGEST TRENDS

1- Beaded Beauties

Whether we’re talking about Gina Rodriguez’s full ball gown by Zuhair Murad, Zoey Deutch’s elegant number or Abbie Cornish’s bohemian dress (both by Elie Saab), beautiful beads where everywhere!

2- Pretty Metallics

Metallics were another big trend of the night! Amongst all the women who’s rocked it, I especially loved Sandra Bullock (Louis Vuitton), Jennifer Lawrence (Christian Dior) and Gal Gadot (Givenchy).

3- Bridal inspired

If I can be honest, I’m not a fan of bridal inspired dresses on the red carpet… and once again, I’m not impressed by the result! This being said, I want to point out that Laura Linney look beautiful in her Calvin Klein by Appointment dress!

WORST LOOKS

1- Whoopi Goldberg in Christian Siriano

OMG! I cannot believe that nobody stopped this disaster from happening… Everything about this dress looks dated : the silhouette, the neckline and the loud/horrible print!

2- Salma Hayek in custom Gucci

Somewhere between the lavender sequins, the ruffles, and that unnecessary neck + shoulder piece, Salma got lost! I can’t believe Gucci agreed to make this!

3- Emma Stone in Louis Vuitton

I always look forward to seeing Emma Stone on the red carpet, but yesterday she really let us down with this ill-fitting suit that actually looks cheap

4- Saoirse Ronan in Calvin Klein by Appointment

I love the colour of this dress, but it washes her out… I also love the idea of  the silhouette, but it make her look shapeless. It’s really unfortunate because it could’ve been really great!

5- Lupita Nyong’o in Atelier Versace

I’m so sad to include Lupita in this list, but this dress is so tacky it hurts! Very Miss Universe…

A FEW MORE NOT SO GREAT LOOKS…

Haley Bennett
in Christian Dior Couture

St. Vincent
in Saint Laurent

Lindsey Vonn
in Christian Siriano

Andra Day
in Zac Posen

Allison Williams
in Armani privé

Elisabeth Moss
in Christian Dior

Great Gerwig
in custom Rodarte

If we forgot someone, please let us know… and stay tuned for our men’s red carpet round-up
