Two weeks ago, I posted about my 10 favourite brides of all time and got so much feedback (especially about how much you loved Carolyn Bessette Kennedy’s iconic gown), that I decided to write a second post about wedding dresses!
Since we’re only a few days away from the Bridal Boudoir Affair, I looked at what Maddy K has in store for us at this year’s bridal fashion show (my favourite part of the event) and was amazed to see that she was featuring dresses from 2 of my favourite bridal designers: Monique Lhuillier and Reem Acra…
Monique Lhuillier
What I love the most about Monique Lhuillier’s designs is the simplicity of her silhouettes and the delicate details that perfectly complement the gowns. Whether she’s using lace appliqués, beads or feathers, the ornamentation is never over-the-top… just perfect!
Reem Acra
We can definitely sense Acra’s Lebanese origins in the richness of her embroideries and the glamour that exudes from her designs… and that’s exactly why I love her so much.
While we’re at it, here are 3 other bridal designers I love!
Naeem Khan
In the past few years, Naeem Khan has really become one of my favourite designers… whether it’s for bridal or red carpet gowns! His beautiful embroideries are simply out of this world.
Marchesa
When I think of Marchesa, I think of tulle and fairytales! The perfect designer for the modern day princesses.
Romona Keveza
Among these 5 designers, Keveza is certainly the one who does retro-chic the best… and these 3 creations from her Spring 2014 collection are the perfect example of that! I especially love her shorter 40’s inspired dress!
I also noticed two names that I never heard of in the Bridal Boudoir Affair program: Galia Lahav and Inbal Dror. Of course, I checked out their designs and what I found left me speechless! Honestly, I think they’re now part of my favourites bridal designers and that’s why I HAD to feature them. See if you agree…
If all these dreamy gowns have made you want to attend the Bridal Boudoir Affair, I have great news! I’m drawing 2 tickets to the event, and all you need to do to win them is fill out this form…
[yop_poll id= »9″]
You have until Friday March 21st at 23:59 to participate and I will announce the winner on Saturday morning so you can attend the BBA on Sunday, which opens at 10! The fashion show is at 2! I wouldn’t miss it if I were you. In case you don’t win, you can buy tickets at the door (if not sold out) or online at bridalboudoiraffair.com/tickets.
