CFDAawards-2014-BestOf

After the MET Gala, all the biggest names in fashion hit the CFDA Awards’ red carpet! Before getting to the best and worst dressed, let’s say that Rihanna was definitely the most talked about with her sheer Swarovski embellished dress by Adam Selman.. and that’s why she was my look of the day this morning. Check out her look right here!

BEST DRESSED

1. Solange Knowles in Calvin Klein Collection

Last night, Solange looked like the reincarnation of Diana Ross… and I love it! This custom made silver Calvin Klein is absolutely stunning on her!

2. Olivia Palermo in Ann Taylor

As usual, Olivia Palermo looked perfect in this fringed ensemble by Ann Taylor. I also love the Aquazurra heels!

3. Joan Smalls in Prabal Gurung

Joan Smalls couldn’t have chosen a more « supermodel » dress than this Prabal Gurung number! I love the slash at the waist and the high-slit showcasing her endless legs!

4. Hilary Rhoda in J Mendel

This is the right way to do sheer! This coral lace dress is fresh and romantic and ideal for the beginning of summer.

5. Marion Cotillard in Christian Dior

I’m usually not crazy about short dresses for these type of events, but this Christian Dior 60’s inspired dress is adorable!

And a special mention to… Coco Rocha in Christian Siriano

I’m not crazy about the top, but I love the dramatic skirt and hat. Very glamourous miss Coco!

Best colour: RED

Of all the colours displayed last night, red was definitely the most striking!

Great Gerwig in Zac Posen/ Bijou Phillips in Irene Neuwirth/ Alessandra Ambrosio in Nonoo

And a few other good dresses…

like Emmy Rossum in J. Mendel

WORST DRESSED

1. Pamela Love

I think I can officially say that this is the most unflattering dress I’ve seen in a very long time!

2. Anna Chlumsky in Cynthia Rowley

I don’t know where to start… the shape of the top, the length of the skirt, the shoes… everything about this look is off!

3. Jennifer Hudson in Kaufman Franco

Lately I’ve really been a fan of Jennifer’s style, but this just doesn’t work… the neckline is very unflattering and the fit makes her look wide at the waist and hips. So disappointed!

4. Lupita Nyongo in Suno

I appreciate Lupita Nyongo’s daring use of colour (and I love it here for the makeup), but that 2 piece look by Suno is a little too clownish for my taste…

5. Rachel Zoe

I don’t know what possessed Rachel Zoe to wear a heavy fall dress in the beginning of summer, but it’s a total no-no! Plus the asymmetrical neckline and exaggerated shoulder are dépassés!

And a few other bad dresses…

like Hanne Gaby Odiele in Band of Outsiders

So… who were your favourites at the CFDA this year? Did I forget anyone?
