More than the Oscars or the Cannes Festival, the MET Gala is definitely our favourite red carpet! Every year, I’m so excited about the event that even though I just got back from Greece yesterday, I had to get back to work right away!

Before getting to Lauriane’s best looks and mine, let’s start with THE ONE we both 100% agreed on…

Karlie Kloss in Brandon Maxwell

The model looked absolutely breathtaking in this sexy and angelic (yes, it exists) cut-out dress by Brandon Maxwell. And when she dropped red wine on it during the night, she just went to her hotel room, got it cut in half, and still looked amazing! Double thumbs up to her!

Poppy Delevingne in Marchesa

I’m in love with everything about this look, the dress, the hair, the makeup and the accessories! WOW!

Nicole Kidman in Alexander McQueen

Nicole Kidman has been on a bad roll lately and I’m so happy she came out looking like a moon goddess in this Alexander McQueen stunner.

Zoey Deutch in Dolce & Gabbana

I guess it’s my love for pink flower dresses, but I absolutely adore this look… including the beautiful jewelry and pretty make-up!

Rita Ora in Vera Wang

We’ve seen a few feather disasters in the last years, but to me this Vera Wang creation is absolutely beautiful… and Rita Ora knows how to rock it!

Emma Watson in Calvin Klein Collection (in collaboration with Eco Age)

I already loved the look and silhouette of this Calvin Klein creation and then I read Emma Watson’s Facebook post about how sustainable the dress was (partly made with recycled plastic bottles) and I’m even more in awe!

Karolina Kurkova in Marchesa

Sometimes Marchesa dresses can be too bridal, but Karolina wears it in such a simple and beautiful way, that we can only be in love! Totally agree with you on this one, Lauriane!

Léa Seydoux in Louis Vuitton

Talking about beautiful simplicity, here’s another example of how it’s done!

Blake Lively in Burberry

Blake Lively is one of my favourite red carpet celebs, because she’s always so elegant. I love the colour of the dress and the simple silhouette that is made more interesting with the long floral train.

Naomi Watts in Burberry

In this Burberry look, I love how the metallic fabric is contrasted with the floral embroideries. And the fit is just perfect for Naomi Watts’ figure.

Zoe Saldana in Dolce & Gabbana

I really love when celebrities dare, and it’s exactly what Zoe Saldana did with a dress that looked like an exotic bird. The skirt is obviously amazing and the elegant black bustier balances it all!

MOST INTERESTING DRESS: Claire Danes in Zac Posen

The dress has a classic Zac Posen Silhouette, but when the lights went off, it completely lit up… filling the room with amazment!

BEST DUO: Lucky Blue Smith & Pyper America in H&M

Lucky Blue took his sister (also a model) to the Met Gala and slated the red carpet! To me, they looked better than Gigi and Zayn or any other duo of the night!

BEST TRIO: Haim sisters in Rodarte

Another family looked absolutely amazing on the red carpet (and I’m not talking about the Kardashian-Jenners)… LOVE!

BEST DRESSED MAN: Will.I.Am in Gucci

Ok, I would have done without the hat, but I think the embroidered sleeves are to die for!

We can always count on Alexa Chung to give us the most effortless look… and she did it again!!

BIGGEST TREND (other than silver): Cut-outs

Of course, silver was the biggest trend of the night, but cut-outs came a close second. It didn’t always work, but it definitely stood out. My favourite of these five: Naomi Campbell, in Cavalli Couture!

DESIGNER that really had a bad night… Louis Vuitton

I didn’t plan on having this category, but since all these dresses could have ended up in our worst dressed list, I had to add it… Taylor Swift and Alicia Vikander looked a little better, but still completely out of their element.

Worst-designer Worst-designer-2

Now that all is said, let’s get to our worst of the night…

Madonna in Givenchy Haute Couture

Already, I wasn’t in love with the front, but when I saw the back… C’mon!

Demi Lovato in Moschino

Everything about this dress just screams tacky!

Lady Gaga in Atelier Versace

Maybe it’s because I’ve been loving her more sophisticated choices lately… but I was disappointed. I honestly think she should have kept this one for her next tour!

Nicki Minaj in Moschino

Buckle overkill…

Kim Kardashian & Kanye West in Balmain

I’ll let you fill the blank (but you can start with Kanye’s jeans….): _______________________________
