Diesel Black Gold was my last show of the week and I couldn’t wait to see where the brand was going to take us… And this season, it was to space! Creative Director, Andreas Melbostad, explored « the tension between the past and the future to create a wardrobe built for survival against the elements ».  This meant great coats, tough shoes, leather and a lot of silver and gun metal!

Diesel Black Gold also used a lot of mirrored metal discs appliqués that immediately reminded me of Paco Rabanne’s futuristic 60’s fashion… but made for everyday life. I especially love how that cream mirrored skirt is simply worn with a turtleneck. Effortless!

This season’s colour palette was pretty simple… Black, anthracite, silver, gun metal and a chic ivory that illuminated the dark runway.

Diesel wouldn’t be Diesel without leather pants… and this season the cuts (and motorcycle feel) were just perfect!

Space and the future were definitely the most important themes, but I also LOVED the masculine inspiration in the trousers, the white crisp shirts and this cool double-breasted jacket dress.

I have to finish with the amazing outerwear! This season, Andreas Melbostad gave us some great leather jackets with shearling linings that we all just wanted to wear… right away (it was freezing in NY!)

These were my favourite looks of the collection, but I’ll let you watch the show and choose yours. Enjoy!
