When was the last time you shopped at Value Village? For my part, it had been almost a year, which is surprising considering the fact that I used to go at least once a month! So I was really happy to have the opportunity to go back, especially since it involved a challenge! The idea was to create a look that fit my style with a budget of 50$.

A lot of people think that Value Village is a good idea only if you want to find or recreate a retro-inspired look, but you can also find very current pieces… and that was definitely my goal!

The first item that caught my eye was this Asian embroidered jacket featuring a striking cobalt blue lining. Of course, it immediately reminded me of the “chinoiserie” trend I loved at Jason Wu and Rag & Bone last season… this was a good start!

Since the jacket had a masculine feel to it, I wanted to find a very feminine skirt to complete the look… that’s when I saw this beautiful vintage leather skirt. The pairing was perfect, but I still needed something to wear under the jacket. Not only did I find a great cami in one of my favourite colours right now, burgundy, but I also managed to put my hand on a buckle-less belt that highlighted my waist (which is necessary with a full skirt like this one).

Oh yes… and by the way, the whole look (excluding the shoes, that were already mine) cost me 30$!!

I can’t wait to hear what you think of my finds!
