I couldn’t wait for the first big award show of the season: the Emmys, especially since I’m such a TV fan (I think I watch 60% of all the shows that were nominated last night)! In general it was a very good night for fashion, but here are my 5 favourite looks!

BEST DRESSED

1. Giulianna Rancic in Romona Keveza

You will probably find this choice surprising and maybe a bit safe, but sometimes a stunning black dress is the best choice. It was certainly the case for host Giulianna Rancic! The interesting neckline, train and high slit of her gown are simply beautiful… and the hair, makeup, jewelry and shoes are perfect!

2. Julianne Moore in Christian Dior Couture

Wow! Leave it to Julianne Moore to wear Raf Simon’s for Christian Dior Couture with such grace! This bright yellow on her complexion and hair is beautiful and the high waisted skirt is perfect for her silhouette!

3. Tina Fey in Vivienne Westwood

If there’s one person I wasn’t expecting to see in my best-dressed list, it’s Tina Fey… But I have to give praise where praise is due! Her plum draped Vivienne Westwood gown with the embroidered bustier is absolutely stunning on her silhouette!

4. Julie Bowen in Monique Lhuillier

I love that the Modern Family star opted for a neon lime dress. It’s bold and playful, but the intricate pleating makes it super chic too… which fits perfectly with her!

5. Jena Malone in J. Mendel

I had to include Jena Malone in my list because she chose such an interesting and different dress. The pleating, the asymmetrical neckline, the thigh-high slit and those wonderful Casadei metallic sandals are just modern.

WORST DRESSED

1.Phoebe Price

I can always count on Phoebe Price to honour my worst dressed list… and she didn’t disappoint me last night! Her frilled dress just looks like a wedding gown gone wrong, and why on earth would you go for a shorter hem dress and wear horrible orange pumps? Yuck!

2. Martha Plimpton

I don’t know what I hate most… the dress, the hair or the absence of makeup! One thing’s for sure, she really looks like she put no effort into her look.

3. Zasia Momet in Bihbu Mahopatra

I LOVE Zasia Momet in Girls, but that dress is just wrong! I especially hate the rigid cap-sleeves. And lace cut-outs starting at the knees? I don’t understand.

4. Glen Close

How can I say this in the nicest possible way? She looks like she’s being attacked by a couple of giant spiders… and that can’t be good !

5. Archie Panjabi in Randi Rahm

I know that some of you will say that the dress isn’t that awful, but it deserves the tackiest dress of the night award. Turquoise satin with a side train… Really?

So who were YOUR personal best (and worst) of the night? I can’t wait to find out!
