A few weeks ago I had the chance to cover Toronto Fashion Week, not only for my blog and Ruby-TFO, but also for FashioNation.TV (the new fashion portal I was telling you about in my post about the Hayden Christensen for RW&Co launch in Toronto). This means I spent the whole week running from the runway to backstage, in order to see the looks and then interview the designers.
I worked with host Madison Schill and together, we covered about 20 shows… which gave us material for 4 episodes! I already posted episode 1 (see it right here) and I’m continuing with the second and third videos!
This season Eran Elfassy and Elisa Dahan were inspired by mirrors and reflections, which is why we saw a lot of silver and metallic in their collection. Understated prints, a few splashes of vibrant colours and leather done in new ways – especially loved their leather mesh – were also important for Spring 2014. But what I loved the most was definitely the cool, minimalistic and modern bags, that Mackage just introduced to their brand. Honestly, I’m wondering why it took so long to add it to the collection!
Joe Fresh, SS-14
For Spring 2014, Joe Mimran presented a collection inspired by Asia, which gave us chinoiseries prints on pyjama inspired looks but also some very interesting eastern imagery on tuniques and blouses. But the main story here was definitely navy… that Joe Fresh featured throughout the collection, on leather, denim, silk and neoprene. I especially loved the colour on his über-cool sport inspired looks that make me want to wear track shorts all summer long!
Since I was working with Ruby-TFO on day 3, my colleague Madison Schill took care of the coverage… Here’s her full recap!
As you can probably see, I’m very excited about this new collaboration and I can’t wait to hear your thoughts… about all the episodes!
