I hadn’t prepared a red carpet round-up since Festival de Cannes and I have to admit I was starting to miss it… So yesterday’s Teen Choice Awards were more than welcome. Here are my best & worst dressed! If you want to see all the biggest trends of the night, click here!
BEST DRESSED
1. Lucy Hale in Wes Gordon
The rich tangerine on her olive skin, the superb neckline, the beautiful gold sandals, and even the pretty side-braid… it’s simple, I love everything about this look!
2. Carly Rae Jepsen in Lisa Ho
I love a short-suit…and when we add a great print, I’m in fashion heaven! And that clutch is so cute…
3. Chelsea Kane in French Connection & Alice and Olivia
What better moment than a summer award show to wear a colourful short! Plus I love the fact that everything she’s wearing is accessible!
4. Miranda Cosgrove in Collette Dinnigan
This dress reminds me of Paco Rabanne’s designs in the sixties… enough said!
5. Taylor Swift in Maria Lucia Hohan
I know… this is not a new look for Taylor Swift, but we have to give it to her, this silhouette fits her perfectly! And I love how the back and the sides of her body are completely uncovered.
Special mention… Best dressed band: No Doubt
No doubt, Gwen and the boys were the best dressed ensemble of the night! All 4 members looked über cool in their dark attires.
WORST DRESSED
1. Demi Lovato in Falguni & Shane Peacock
I don’t know what’s worse… the feathers, the side-boob transparency, the stripper shoes or that fake dominatrix ponytail? Yuck!
2. Kevin Mchale
I’ll tell you how I think this happened… the actor googled « biggest trends + fashion men », found « tuxedo inspired & camouflage print » and decided to wear it at all at once… bad idea!
3. Cat Deeley
Wizard of Oz‘s Tin Man called and he wants his pants back!
4. Debby Ryan in Bibhu Mohapatra
1)You can’t do prints + graphic cut-out shoulders on the same dress. 2)If you do cut-out shoulders, pull your hair up! 3)Have you ever seen Chanel pumps look so cheap?
5. Jordin Sparks in Chagourey
You just lost 50 pounds and you want to show your legs, I get it… but there are so many better ways to do it than with a prom-gone-wrong puffy dress!
Now I want to try something new… a little style battle on a very trendy item at the 2012 Teen Choice Awards: the sequinned mini-skirt…
Who wore it better: Bella Thorne or Jojo?
Here is the perfect example of how a cute sequinned skirt can go from pretty to slutty. First of all, Bella’s choice of pairing the skirt with a silky top in the same tone is very chic… On the contrary, Jojo’s cotton white camp just makes her looks cheap, plus her mini-skirt is actually TOO mini. If you are curvier like Jojo, you have to go a few inches longer! The only aspect where she wins is in the shoe department. If the girls had traded shoes, Bella definitely would have earned a spot in my Best Dressed List!
Now that you know who are my Best & Worst Dressed at the Teen Choice Awards, please let me know who are your favourites!
